Point Washington Medical Clinic

Vision:

To bring “Radically Inclusive Healthcare” to Walton County and Florida’s great northwest.

Mission:

The mission of the Point Washington Medical Clinic (PWMC) is to build a stronger and healthier community by providing high quality primary healthcare regardless of the patient’s means or access. By being volunteer driven, PWMC’s own costs will be maintained at a substantially lower cost per patient than other providers.

About the Clinic

Founded by Patsy Vargo, MD and Hillary Glenn, DNP in April 2017, the PWMC launched as a no fee for service, volunteer driven, pop-up, primary care clinic operating in the fellowship hall of the Point Washington United Methodist Church. Our goals are to keep children in school, people at work, and ease the burden on local ERs.

The clinic opened seeing patients one day a week. Patient volume quickly increased and to meet the growing need, we expanded hours of operation to three days a week. By 2019, we were seeing 200+ patients a month. With emergency responses to Hurricane Michael relief in 2018, and having tested 2400+ COVID-19 patients in 2020 turbo-charging our growth, we have easily outgrown our facilities, and with it the opportunity to do more in serving our community.

Our Future :: Our Building

We are currently at capacity and outgrowing our space. We love our Point Washington location and have a long-term lease with the Point Washington United Methodist Church (PWUMC), allowing us to expand into our own facility. The new building of 4,750 square feet will allow us to continue serving the community with Radically Inclusive Healthcare. Our plan includes 6 examination rooms, which we anticipate means we can serve 850+ patients a month in the future, an increase of 300%. New programming planned will include the full health spectrum: preventative, primary care, restorative, and more. This will transform the clinic into a “one stop shop” for comprehensive care, continuing our omission of quality primary care while expanding to include specialist, dentistry, and wellness education. Altogether we estimate this will provide the equivalent of $10M over the next 5 years in healthcare services provided to those least able to afford it.

Our desire is to be a guiding light for our patients on their journey to optimal wellness. Your contribution to this campaign supports a strategic local resource working to ensure a healthier future for all in Walton County and beyond.
